Admissions FAQs

One of the advantages of California College of ASU is that you can call the Admissions Office and have a one-on-one conversation with your admissions counselor regarding the status of your application.

 

You can call an admissions counselor toll free at 800-785-0585 or email us anytime at studentadmissions@californiacollege.asu.edu. If you’ve already applied or connected with us, you may already have talked to an admissions counselor who you can always call or email directly.

You can apply right now. We have rolling admission and are accepting applications for fall 2024 via commonapp.org.

There are several school codes. Be sure to select the appropriate code for each purpose:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – Code 7213
  • Advanced Placement (AP) exams – Code 1247
  • SAT exam – Code 1247
  • ACT exam – Code 5553
  • Federal Financial Aid Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – Code 014697*
  • Private Student Loans – Code 021102-00

*The school code may be listed under “Columbia College Hollywood,” which is the former name of our institution. If you see “Columbia College Hollywood,” you can proceed with selecting that institution name for 014697. We are working with the U.S. Department of Education to have the college’s name updated in the application, but using the prior name in your application will have no bearing on the federal aid you are qualified to receive through California College of ASU.

Once you have completed your application file, including submitting all supporting documents, we will send you an acceptance notice by mail within two to six weeks.

Yes! If you have scored a 3 or better on your AP exams, please submit the official exam results to receive college credit.

Yes!  We participate in all of the federal financial aid student loan and grant programs, including Pell and SEOG grants for low income students. We also accept Cal Grants for California residents. In fact, nearly 80% of California College of ASU students receive some sort of financial aid. Some grant programs have firm deadlines. The CAL Grant deadline for a fall semester start date, for instance, is March 2.

Students in our programs can customize their degree programs by choosing to focus on an area of emphasis:

For the 2024–25 academic year, annual tuition for domestic students is $27,632. Since we are a private school rather than a public school, tuition is the same for California residents and non-residents.

Annual tuition for international students is $32,874.

California College of ASU’s Career Development Office helps both students and alumni with polishing resumes, sharpening interview skills, securing for-credit internships and finding full-time jobs.

California College of ASU students have the opportunity to live in student housing at Broadway Palace, a luxury apartment building with a unique design based on old Hollywood. The building is a couple blocks from ASU California Center Broadway. 

The building has many amenities, including fitness centers, indoor volleyball and basketball courts, a 24/7 gym and two pools.

Unfortunately, we currently do not offer any meal plans.

Our standard application fee is $50.00. This can be waived by attending one of our virtual open houses. Email studentadmissions@californiacollege.asu.edu for registration details.

 

First-year students:

  • Minimum of a 2.5 unweighted cumulative GPA in the ‘A-G’ courses.
  • Applicants who do not meet this cumulative GPA may be considered for admission through an individual review process.

Transfer students, applicants with:

  • 1-12 transferable credits: will need to meet the first-year student admission criteria.
  • 13-23 transferable credits: will need to meet the first-year student admission criteria and a 2.5 cumulative transfer GPA.
  • 24-59 transferable credits: minimum of a 2.5 cumulative transfer GPA
  • Applicants with an Associate’s Degree or 60 or more transfer credits: minimum of a 2.0 cumulative transfer GPA

Yes, we have scholarships available and we also offer work-study scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on both merit and need. See the scholarship page for more information.

Our current student-to-teacher ratio is 15:1.

Our teachers are working professionals in the industry. They’ve won awards including Emmys, Golden Globes and Academy Awards. They are among the best in the industry. View a list of teachers and their entertainment credits.

Private tours are offered Monday thru Friday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.  You can either email an Admissions representative at studentadmissions@californiacollege.asu.edu to schedule a tour or you can book your tour using our Private Tour request form. 

We are located in downtown Los Angeles at 1111 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90015. We are within walking distance to the Fashion District, Arts District and LA Live Entertainment District including Crypto.Com Arena. We are also in walking distance to Metro bus and train lines.
