New student orientation

Welcome, students!

On behalf of the entire California College of ASU community, we congratulate you and welcome you to the family! Starting this spring, you’ll take the first of many steps on the remarkable journey ahead of you. And you’ll have a strong group of cheerleaders, supporters, mentors and advisors here to help you make the most of your time.

Orientation is the start of your journey. It’s a program that helps new students explore college resources and discover their new community. This spring’s program will be delivered through a hybrid experience.

The Student Affairs team has created a menu of interactive activities to ensure a fun, worthwhile orientation for all new members of our community. Register for these events using the form on the side of this page.

Upcoming orientation dates

This program is a traditional half-day orientation that introduces students to the LA campus community and reviews campus-specific policies and procedures.

Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a campus tour or schedule meetings with the financial aid, business office or student services teams.

Orientation is required for all incoming students. Please RSVP via the form. 

Sample schedule:

Refreshments and lunch provided.

• 8:30–11:15 a.m. - Overview of student services, career services, student events, housing etc.
• 11:15 a.m. - California Center Broadway tour.
• 11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch and faculty and student panel.
• 12:30 p.m. - The academic experience.
• 2:30 p.m. - Parent and family FAQ. (parent/guardians)
• 2:30 p.m. - California Center Grand tour. (students)
• 3:30 p.m. - Orientation ends.

Directions

Please note that parking around the school is open to the public and fills up quickly, so plan to arrive on time. If you will be driving, you can park across the street in any of the public parking lots — they charge between $5 and $10 per day. The California Center Broadway building will have an ASU sign on it. See the street view. Enter the front lobby and you will find a registration table for the California College of ASU Orientation.
